The South Summit Wildcats waltzed into their game Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Altamont 68-49. South Summit's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading South Summit to victory were Mariah Bowen and Emma Broadbent. Bowen scored 20 points, while Broadbent dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Broadbent's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Fitzgerald, who scored eight points along with seven steals.
South Summit's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Altamont, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
South Summit won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Juab at 12:00 p.m. on December 20th. Altamont will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pinnacle at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
