Softball Recap: Bosqueville Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Bosqueville entered their tilt with Hamilton on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hamilton a 19-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-0 back in March.

Corinne Sheffield made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February.

In other batting news, Jayla Lee and Carly Collins did most of the damage at the plate: Lee scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Collins went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Collins continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Carli Wright, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Bosqueville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamilton only posted an OBP of .071.

Bosqueville pushed their record up to 15-4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Coincidentally, Bosqueville and Hamilton will both be playing Crawford the next time they take the field. Bosqueville will host Crawford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Hamilton will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
