Basketball Recap: Bryant Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Rj Young and Camarion Bead

After flying high against North Oldham on Saturday, Bryant came back down to earth. The Bryant Hornets might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the St. Xavier Tigers an easy 76-50 win. The Hornets' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Bryant's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Camarion Bead, who went 7 of 15 en route to 17 points and five rebounds, and Rj Young, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. The contest was Bead's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Tucker, who had seven points.

Even though they lost, Bryant smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Graham Krezmien went supernova for St. Xavier, going 7 of 9 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Dillingham, who put up 14 points.

Bryant's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for St. Xavier, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Bryant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-43 win against Waxahachie on the 27th. As for St. Xavier, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-59 loss against Georgetown Prep on the 26th.
