Given Wallkill's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Saugerties is ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wallkill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoe Mesuch, who scored 24 points along with three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Mesuch has scored at least a third of Wallkill's points. Alex Dembinsky was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Our Lady of Lourdes didn't have too much trouble with Kingston on the road on Wednesday as they won 63-46.
Wallkill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Our Lady of Lourdes, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
