Sherwood is a perfect 5-0 against Gaithersburg since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors will host the Trojans at 3:45 p.m. Sherwood is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
If Sherwood beats Gaithersburg with 14 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand Springbrook a 14-0 shutout on Saturday. Considering the Warriors have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Reagan Corb made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Kylie Valois was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Callie Kent was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI.
Sherwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Gaithersburg lost 17-5 to Blake on Saturday.
Gaithersburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarai Fernandez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Sherwood's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Gaithersburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Sherwood has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .541. However, it's not like Gaithersburg struggles in that department as they've averaged .598. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Sherwood's way against Gaithersburg in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Sherwood made off with a 10-0 win. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
