The Cabrillo Jaguars will head out on the road to square off against the Compton Tarbabes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Cabrillo and Lakewood have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Jaguars came out on top against the Lancers by a score of 60-51. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Among those leading the charge was Marques MJ Reed Jr, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Obue, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Compton played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Woodrow Wilson, falling 99-75. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (63), the Tarbabes still had to take the loss.
Cabrillo will have to contain Roman Sims as he made an impact in Compton's last game. He went 9-for-16 to rack up 26 points. Thanks to that strong game, Sims now owns an excellent 45.6% shooting accuracy. Zai Williams was another key player, putting up 14 points and five boards.
Cabrillo's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Compton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Cabrillo has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Compton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Cabrillo was able to grind out a solid win over Compton in their previous meeting back in December of 2025, winning 72-63. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
