It was a good run, but the Capital City Cavaliers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost to Eldon on the road by a decisive 63-44 margin. Capital City has not had much luck with Eldon recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Sydney Halderman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Eldon, scoring 22 points along with seven assists. The match was Halderman's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Zoe Martonfi was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.
Capital City now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Eldon, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Capital City will finish 2023 at home by hosting Benton on Wednesday. Eldon will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Buffalo at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Buffalo is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
