The Arvada Bulldogs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 61-60 win over The Pinnacle. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Arvada's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Lake, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds. Lake is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Martinez, who scored 20 points.
Arvada's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for The Pinnacle, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Arvada will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Lake County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. As for The Pinnacle, they will head out on the road to challenge the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Platte Canyon is ranked 290th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 286th).
