The Auburndale Eagles will square off against the Pacelli Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Auburndale sitting on three straight victories and Pacelli on eight.
Auburndale is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Crivitz as they made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 16 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Morgan Griesbach made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Danika Blomberg was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Bellanti, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Auburndale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crivitz only posted an OBP of .368.
Meanwhile, while Pacelli put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Bonduel. The Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Bears. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by just one run.
Not much got past Amelia Martini, who gave up just six hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Bonduel off the board.
At the plate, Pacelli saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Wavrunek, who went 2-for-4 with one double.
Pacelli's win bumped their record up to 19-4-1. As for Auburndale, their victory bumped their record up to 21-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Auburndale has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like Pacelli struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Auburndale might still be hurting after the 11-5 defeat they got from Pacelli when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
