The Westside Seminoles are on the road again on Monday and plays the Perry Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Westside came up short against the Braves and fell 63-52. Westside has not had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Joshua Harden and Isaiah Dennis. Dennis had a solid game and scored ten points. Meanwhile, Harden was balling out in the loss, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Perry pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Howard.
Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Perry, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
Westside beat the Panthers 65-56 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
