The Bluegrass Blazers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. Their rough 48-25 defeat to Rocket City might stick with them for a while. If Bluegrass hoped to take revenge for the 29-21 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Rocket City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elizabeth ( Bess ) Shea, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Shea has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was MacKenzie Baker, who scored 12 points.
Bluegrass' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rocket City, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bluegrass will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Christian Educational Consortium at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Rocket City, they will head out on the road to square off against Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
