Volleyball Recap: Word of God Academy Takes a Loss

If Word of God Academy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Northeast Baptist on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Force came up short against the Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots on Friday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Force have suffered since August 5th.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-16.

Despite the loss, Word of God Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kallie Pizarro had 17 digs and three aces. Pizarro has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played.

Word of God Academy's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Christian Home Educators Fellowship, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Word of God Academy will challenge Open Door Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. After both having extra time off, Christian Home Educators Fellowship and Old Bethel Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
