After a string of three wins, the St. Cecilia Academy Scarabs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 68-22 loss at the hands of Pope John Paul II. St. Cecilia Academy has not had much luck with Pope John Paul II recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Mia Galassini and Bailey Lynch certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Galassini scored six points along with ten rebounds, while Lynch scored five points.
St. Cecilia Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Pope John Paul II, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Cecilia Academy will take on Christ Presbyterian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christ Presbyterian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Cecilia Academy in Tennessee (Christ Presbyterian Academy is ranked 146th, while St. Cecilia Academy is ranked 297th). Pope John Paul II will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Harpeth Hall at 5:30 p.m. on January 4th.
