Santaluces walked away with a 49-41 victory over Boynton Beach on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Santaluces also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Leading Santaluces to victory were Trent Nixon and Decarious Jenkins. Nixon scored nine points, while Jenkins scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Jenkins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Tremaine Hollis was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Santaluces' victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Boynton Beach, they bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Santaluces will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Forest Hill at 7:30 p.m. Forest Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Boynton Beach won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Inlet Grove at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Inlet Grove presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Boynton Beach in Florida (Inlet Grove is ranked 287th, while Boynton Beach is ranked 604th).
