Mexico had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.6 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. They blew past the Marshall Owls 80-44. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Chase Thompson and Deacon Arends certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Thompson posted 12 points, while Arends earned ten points along with five assists and five rebounds. Arends is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Angel Aguirre, who had nine points.

Mexico pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.3 points over those games. As for Marshall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.

We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Mexico will need to watch out since Harrisburg has now posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests. As for Marshall, they will square off against Hannibal at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.
