Benbrook hasn't had much luck against Glen Rose recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bobcats will face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Benbrook proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 21) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They slipped by Hillsboro 21-20.

Waylin Barton went supernova, picking up 62 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Benbrook also got a significant boost from Desmond Chambers, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glen Rose). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 70-0 win over Venus. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1120th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glen Rose found their leader in sophomore Judd Connally, who threw for 155 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 passes, and also rushed for 36 yards and one TD. Connally's passing game has become a key predictor of the Tigers' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise.
Glen Rose didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Riot Sullivan and Luke Males. Glen Rose received some extra help from Ryder Ribitzki, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Benbrook's record is now 5-3. As for Glen Rose, their record now sits at 3-5.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Brennan Barton and Connally. Barton just won't slow down this season and has averaged 261.2 passing yards per game. Connally has been a dominant force too and has thrown 18 touchdowns while averaging 179.6 passing yards per game.
Benbrook was dealt a bruising 52-14 loss at the hands of Glen Rose in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
