Football Recap: Saugus Skates Past Castaic with Ease + How To Watch

After losing to Castaic the last time they met, Saugus decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Centurions blew past the Coyotes 48-19 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Centurions, who have now won five contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

Ty Hall was his usual excellent self, rushing for 65 yards and four touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in August.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Saugus was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Saugus' defense and their three sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up 0.5 apiece ( Elijah Ham, Ruy Maldonado, David Asomugha, Travis Alas, Elvis Encinas, and Clarence Carlisle also recorded half a sack).

Castaic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cody King, who threw for 177 yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in one rushing score.

Saugus pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.0 points over those games. As for Castaic, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saugus will take on Golden Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Hall and Aaron McCormick. As for Castaic, they will face off against Valencia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Coyotes will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 31 points in their last eight matchups.
