Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the DeWitt Dragons, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of Ashdown by a score of 30-28. DeWitt's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
DeWitt's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Justin Ross and Korri Graham. Ross gained 115 total yards and three touchdowns, while Graham rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.
DeWitt's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Ashdown, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
DeWitt does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ashdown will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Harding Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. One thing working in Harding Academy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
