Vision extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-9. They came up short against the Nampa Christian Trojans, falling 22-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Nampa Christian this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-2 on April 2nd.
Rayah Buster made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
As for Nampa Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.
On Nampa Christian's side, Peyton Shook made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Shook has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Quenna Hartley, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Gray, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Vision is set to square off against their familiar foe Parma at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Nampa Christian will take on rival New Plymouth at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
