The Wewoka Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Carnegie Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wewoka is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
Wewoka pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Okemah. While losing is never fun, Wewoka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 430th, while Okemah is ranked 196th).
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Carnegie's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 60-50 to Fort Cobb-Broxton. Carnegie has struggled against Fort Cobb-Broxton recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Carnegie had strong showings from Jalen Wallace, who scored 21 points along with eight assists, and Duane Cavaness, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was Wallace's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Paden Jackson was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Wewoka bumped their record down to 2-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Carnegie's record now sits at 7-2.
