The St. George's Gryphons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Sacred Heart of Jesus 77-73. Even though they lost, St. George's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.2 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
When it comes to explaining why St. George's lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amir Wilson. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Silas Jones, who scored 18 points.
St. George's has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Sacred Heart of Jesus, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.
St. George's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sacred Heart of Jesus also has no future games currently scheduled.
