Platt hasn't had much luck against Maloney recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:30 a.m. Maloney took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Platt, who comes in off a win.
Platt took a loss when they played away from home on November 7th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They walked away with a 40-27 win over Hall.

Austen Standish had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 246 yards and four TDs, while also rushing for 91 yards. What's more, he racked up 131.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Jayvon West was Standish's top target, picking up 109 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Platt didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Hall to a completion percentage of just 35.7%. The team can thank Lyjon Bel for the heroic effort on defense: he. Platt wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 64.3%.
Platt's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Amari Booker and Michael Smith, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece. Platt received some extra help from Noah Laub, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Maloney fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Southington last Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 35-34 to the Blue Knights.
Platt will have to contain Devan Bacote as he made an impact in Maloney's last game. He rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns. Bacote is becoming a predictor of Maloney's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 3-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
Platt now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Maloney, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.
Things could have been worse for Platt, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 28-14 loss to Maloney in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
