Baseball Recap: St. David Has No Trouble Against Fort Thomas

St. David's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Fort Thomas Apaches 12-2. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Apaches: they've now won five in a row.

Grant Haymore made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Haymore was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, St. David let Cooper Merrill and Cedar Haynie run wild. Merrill scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Haynie went 2-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most hits Haynie has posted since back in April of 2024. Luke Haymore was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

The victory got St. David back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, St. David is taking a road trip to challenge Tombstone at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Thomas, they will take on Patagonia at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
