Millbrook hasn't had much luck against Wakefield recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. Millbrook is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Millbrook after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Enloe by a score of 6-5.
Millbrook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Kaplan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Wakefield had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Capitals. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Ella Lampman was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brenna Colleran, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Wakefield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in eight consecutive games.
Wakefield's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Millbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Millbrook hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Wakefield struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Millbrook suffered a grim 16-5 defeat to Wakefield when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
