The Valdosta Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Richmond Hill Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Valdosta has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, Valdosta came up short against Colquitt County and fell 59-52.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Nadia Gardner, who scored 19 points along with three steals. That was a full 36.5% of Valdosta's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Bloom, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Richmond Hill didn't have too much trouble with Jenkins on the road on Tuesday as they won 42-26. Given Richmond Hill's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Jenkins is ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Valdosta dropped their record down to 14-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Richmond Hill, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 14-7.
