Austin entered their tilt with Brewer on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 61-38 margin over the Bears. The Maroons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

Austin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jillian Shirk, who posted ten points and eight steals. Shirk is becoming a predictor of the Maroons' success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 8-1 (and 1-2 when she doesn't). Evelyn Young was another key player, shooting 63% from the field to rack up 13 points and eight rebounds.

Austin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Austin's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Brewer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
