The Westlake Thunder won against the Riverton Silverwolves on Wednesday with 60 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Westlake claimed a resounding 60-33 victory over Riverton on the road. With that win, Westlake brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Austyn Feller was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Willis, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Riverton still got an impressive performance from Faythe Stauffer, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Gabby Murdock, who scored six points.
The win was the third in a row for Westlake, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Riverton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Westlake will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sky View at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. Riverton will be home for the holidays to greet Viewmont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Viewmont is ranked 67th, while Riverton is ranked 75th).
