If the Ridgecroft Rams were feeling good off their 84-9 takedown of the Oakwood Eagles last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ridgecroft fell 74-66 to Lawrence Academy on Friday. Ridgecroft was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lawrence Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 5th.
Despite the loss, Ridgecroft had strong showings from Antron Gray, who scored 23 points along with five assists, and Sawyer Chamblee, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bill Vaughan, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Lawrence Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mari Larry out in front who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Larry hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Mike Lee was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Ridgecroft's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Lawrence Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgecroft will face off against Albemarle School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lawrence Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against John Paul II Catholic at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
