Ocean View Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Mountain Empire Redhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
On Thursday, Ocean View Christian came up short against Liberty Charter and fell 58-49.
Meanwhile, Mountain Empire scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 69-36 victory over School for Entrepreneurship & Technology. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Mountain Empire has posted since November 18, 2023.
Andrew Sepulveda and Corey Vann were among the main playmakers for Mountain Empire as the former scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals and the latter dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. Sepulveda hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Maximo Gonzalez, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Ocean View Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Mountain Empire, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.
Ocean View Christian came up short against Mountain Empire when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 37-29. Can Ocean View Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
