After a string of six wins, the Eagle Mustangs's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Owyhee. Eagle has not had much luck with Owyhee recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Eagle still got an impressive performance from Paige Cofer, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The matchup was Cofer's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Porter Wood was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Eagle's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Owyhee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Eagle will head out on the road to face off against Rocky Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rocky Mountain will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Owyhee will take on Kuna at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Kuna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Owyhee is ranked eighth).
