The West Mesa Mustangs''s three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 57-0 win over Rio Grande. The result was nothing new for West Mesa, who have now won four matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
Elijah Brody continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 180 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 75 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Brody's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. Tavon Archibald got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
West Mesa now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Rio Grande, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Mesa will take on Eldorado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Eldorado is ranked 16th, while West Mesa is ranked 18th). As for Rio Grande, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
