The Chase County Longhorns will be home for the holidays to greet the Bridgeport Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Chase County: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Bridgeport has snatched up 12 consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
After soaring to 56 points the game before, Chase County were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 32-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wray. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chase County has scored all season.
Bridgeport has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 25 points or more this season. They blew past Chadron 82-57. Bridgeport's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Olivia Loomis-goltl was her usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Bridgeport's points. Another player making a difference was Tacey From, who scored 16 points.
Chase County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Bridgeport, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Chase County suffered a grim 65-44 defeat to Bridgeport in their previous matchup back in February. Thankfully for Chase County, Ruthie Loomis-goltl (who scored 30 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
