The Hanks Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season. They took their game on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 55-28 win over El Paso. That's two games straight that Hanks has won by exactly 27 points.
Hanks' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nevaeh Moore led the charge by scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks set a new season-high mark for her. Daisy Fernandez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Natalia Thomas, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and five blocks. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 15 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaris Ambriz, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, El Paso were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hanks only pulled down 20 offensive rebounds.
Hanks is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. As for El Paso, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hanks will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Eastlake at 9:00 a.m. on December 28th. El Paso will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Andress at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
