The Grant Pacers will challenge the McNair Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Grant has given up an average of 11.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Grant fell victim to Wheatland and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 18-0 to the Pirates. Having soared to a lofty 25 runs in the game before, the Pacers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Grant saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrianna Fernandez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Fernandez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stole at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, McNair posted their biggest win since April 24, 2024 last Thursday. They put the hurt on Delhi with a sharp 21-9 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won three in a row.
Jazmine Enriquez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.
In other batting news, Naohmi Tapia was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Krysti Thao was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
McNair now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Grant, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Grant hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .396. However, it's not like McNair struggles in that department as they've averaged .381. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
