It was close, but Timber Creek Regional capped 2023 with a 58-56 victory over Burlington Township. Given Timber Creek Regional's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Burlington Township is ranked 143rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Burlington Township's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Quayd Hendryx, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds, and Aaron Ferguson who scored 21 points. The match was Hendryx's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Irving Singletary, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Timber Creek Regional's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Burlington Township, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-3.
Timber Creek Regional will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Eustace Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burlington Township, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Doane Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
