Lathrop has been on the road for three straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Service Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lathrop will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alaska Rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Service is ranked fourth).
After soaring to a 20-point victory in their last game, Lathrop came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell just short of Palmer by a score of 55-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Lathrop has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Lathrop saw an underclassman step up: Deshon Hall scored 22 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Skinner, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Service earned a 64-54 win over West Anchorage on Tuesday.
Lathrop's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Service, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Lathrop lost to Service at home by a decisive 61-44 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Lathrop avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
