Chapin has gone 9-1 against Canutillo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Huskies will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Chapin's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last seven contests.
On Wednesday, Chapin made easy work of Jefferson and carried off a 22-1 win. Considering the Huskies have won 18 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jaedyne Armendariz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and four runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, Addy Rocha was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Iliana Velasquez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Chapin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in 18 consecutive matchups.
Burges hit Canutillo with a six-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 9-8.
Abby Lujan made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Izzy Salazar was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Chapin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Canutillo, their loss dropped their record down to 8-21.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Chapin hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Canutillo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Chapin came out on top in a nail-biter against Canutillo in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 14-13. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
