Winston is 10-0 against the Mustangs since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Winston Red Birds will head out on the road to face off against the Tri-County Mustangs. Winston is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, Winston came up short against the Panthers and fell 59-52. While losing is never fun, Winston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while the Panthers are ranked 145th).
Meanwhile, Tri-County suffered a tough 71-49 loss at the hands of the Panthers on Saturday. Tri-County has struggled against the Panthers recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Winston's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Tri-County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Winston against the Mustangs in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 61-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Winston since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
