The Princeton Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against North Posey by a score of 47-37. That's another feather in the cap for Princeton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Princeton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Azaryon Wesley led the charge by scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Nya Dame, who scored ten points.
North Posey's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mallory Luigs, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazalyn Ward, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Princeton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for North Posey, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Princeton will challenge Pike Central at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pike Central is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for North Posey, they will head out on the road to face off against Tell City at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
