This season hasn't been kind to the Sandhills Valley Mavericks, who are still winless after their 17th game. They were dealt a 61-9 defeat at the hands of Paxton on Friday. Sandhills Valley has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Paxton found their leader in underclassman Jaleigh Hansen, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hansen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Fote, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Sandhills Valley's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Paxton, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandhills Valley will square off against the Haymakers on Tuesday. As for Paxton, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hershey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday.
