The Masuk Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Southington Blue Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Wednesday. Masuk blew past Kaynor Tech 15-5. Masuk's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Chris Welch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Steven Curtin, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Masuk always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Southington put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Enfield get on the board and left with a 7-0 win.
Southington also got a great performance from Gabe Hinkson as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched. Hinkson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Southington let Zach Noyes and Brycen Voisine run wild. Noyes went 3-for-4 with one home run and one double, while Voisine went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that Noyes has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Zigmont, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Southington's victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Masuk, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-3.
Masuk might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Southington in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
