The Rye Garnets will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Ardsley Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Rye will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Friday, Rye didn't have too much trouble with Nyack at home as they won 33-18. 33 seems to be a good number for Rye as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Rye relied on the efforts of Jake Kessner, who picked up 167 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and AJ Miller, who threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns while completing 88.2% of his passes. Kessner was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 63 yards. Chris Iuliano also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Ardsley can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They blew past Nanuet, posting a 40-7 win on the road. Given Ardsley's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Nanuet is ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Rye to 7-2 and Ardsley to 7-1.
Everything came up roses for Rye against Ardsley when the teams last played back in October as the squad secured a 42-14 win. Does Rye have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ardsley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
