The Reeltown Rebels had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Holtville with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 55-38. The victory was just what Reeltown needed coming off of a 54-29 defeat in their prior match.
Reeltown found their leader in underclassman London O'Neal, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. O'Neal is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. Leeandra Hooks was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Reeltown's victory bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Holtville, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reeltown won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Panthers at 10:30 a.m. on February 3rd. The timing is sure in Lanett's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home while the Rebels have been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. As for Holtville, they will take on the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
