Basketball Recap: Faith Rosiere's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Belleview Christian over Golden View Classical Academy

Belleview Christian won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They lost 49-25 to the Golden View Classical Academy Sentinels. The Bruins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

Belleview Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Faith Rosiere, who posted four points and 21 rebounds. Rosiere is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tara Polson, who earned seven points along with 12 boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, Belleview Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matches.

Golden View Classical Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gianna Acocella led the charge by going 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 20 points and five rebounds. Those 20 points gave Acocella a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Le, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 12 points and three steals.

Belleview Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Golden View Classical Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

After both having extra time off, Belleview Christian and Flatirons Academy will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Golden View Classical Academy and Front Range Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
