Sadie Sholtis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

Gillespie lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Gillespie has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for East Alton-Wood River, they dropped their record down to 10-13 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
