The Linsly Cadets entered their tilt with the Austintown-Fitch Falcons with five consecutive wins dating back to last season but they'll enter their next game with six. Linsly walked away with a 57-47 victory over Austintown-Fitch on Tuesday.
Austintown-Fitch's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allen Hill jr, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The match was Hill jr's third in a row with at least ten points. Deshawn Vaughn was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Linsly pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Austintown-Fitch, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Linsly will challenge Harrison Central at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Austintown-Fitch, they will head out on the road to face off against Mayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
