The Westlake Thunder will venture away from home to challenge the Lone Peak Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westlake will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Westlake is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Pleasant Grove, who was ranked 13th at the time (Westlake was ranked sixth). The Thunder were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Vikings on Thursday. The Thunder not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th.
While Westlake might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Pleasant Grove scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18, 25-18.

Westlake's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Talon Schank, who had 11 digs and two aces, and Rigden Hansen, who had nine digs. Schank has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times he's played.
They weren't the only good server: Westlake was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Lone Peak came up short against Lehi on Thursday, falling 3-0.
While Lone Peak ultimately came up short, they really made Lehi work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21, 26-24.
Lone Peak's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-3. As for Westlake, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5.
Westlake skirted past Lone Peak 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
