The Vista Murrieta Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Vista Murrieta has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Long Beach Poly will arrive with eight straight victories.
Last Thursday, Vista Murrieta ended up a good deal behind Murrieta Valley and lost 35-21.
Alexander Vega put forth a good effort for the losing side as he gained 103 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Long Beach Poly put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 56-14 victory over Jordan on the road. Given Long Beach Poly's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Jordan is ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Darius Curry, who threw for 339 yards and seven touchdowns. Curry hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Charles Clinton did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Murrieta Valley's win bumped their season record to 7-3 while Vista Murrieta's loss dropped theirs to 6-4.
