Pymatuning Valley is 3-0 against St. John since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Pymatuning Valley Lakers will be playing at home against the St. John Fighting Herald at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Pymatuning Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 24 to 2 on the offensive boards, a fact Pymatuning Valley proved. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 50-10 win over Harding. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pymatuning Valley.
Pymatuning Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mae Struna out in front who scored 10 points. Leah DeMoss was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, St. John pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Windham 61-55. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. John in their matchups with Windham: they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was alyssa cevera, who scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mickey Zheng, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Pymatuning Valley's win pushed their record up to 2-0, while Harding's loss dropped theirs down to 0-2.
Everything went Pymatuning Valley's way against St. John in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as Pymatuning Valley made off with a 57-33 win. Does Pymatuning Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. John turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
