Softball Recap: Lindblom Wins Going Away Against Kelly

Lindblom's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Kelly Trojans 20-4. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by 15 runs or more this season.

Madeline Marquez was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Simone Bishop, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Gaines, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Lindblom's win bumped their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lindblom is set to square off against their familiar foe Back of the Yards College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Kelly will take on rival Kenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses dating back to last season for the Trojans and four for the Broncos.
